During the National Socialist regime, the open-cast facilities of the ore mine were largely rebuilt as part of the so-called Rammelsberg project. Ore production was to be increased - the Nazi government was endeavouring to make the German Reich independent of raw material imports. During the guided tour above and below ground, you will gain an insight into life and work at Rammelsberg between 1933 and 1945, in particular the use of forced labourers during the Second World War.
