A small jolt goes through the group and then the inclined elevator starts to move. It takes you 40 meters up to one of the last remaining ore processing plants in Germany. Here, the ore extracted from the Rammelsberg was ground and enriched into high-quality concentrates using the so-called flotation process.
During the tour, you will follow the path of the ore - from extraction through the various stages of processing to transportation to the smelting works. You will get to know various machines and their functions.
Depending on the season, the inclined elevator operates from April to the end of October. During the winter months, you climb the ore processing plant on foot.
Please note: This tour is not wheelchair accesible and not suitable for people with impaired mobility (many steep staircases). This tour is not advised for young children (duration and noisiness).
